Vegan Smoked Salmon

  • 1 large sweet potato
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp apple cide vinegar
  • 1 tbsp liquid smoke
  • 1 handful fresh chopped dill
  • 1-2 tbsp seaweed/ nori


  • Peel the sweet potato. Slice large strips of the potato using a peeler.
  • Add the salt to a pot of boiling water. Boil the strips in hot water for 2-3 minutes.
  • Drain the strips and put aside.
  • Whisk together the marinade: olive oil, vinegar, liquid smoke, seaweed. Chop 2-3 dill stems and add to the marinade. Fill it into an airtight container.
  • Add the sweet potato slices and leave in the marinade overnight, better even for 2 nights.
